In forum management, you can either set up your community using a free or paid forum software. In a situation where you're making use of paid forum software, there will always be the need to renew your licenses every now and then. How do you go about the renewal of your forum licenses? Do you renew it once it's due or hold off till it's paramount you need the support that can only come when the licenses is renewed?

In case if I ever use a software, then I would renew my membership every month. I would initially purchase the monthly membership in order to see how well my forum is performing. In case, if my forum is performing perfectly, then I would renew my subscription every month.

Usually it's a year renewal, but I think it depends on the forum software/service you're using. I think monthly is a bit much, since you are probably already paying hosting and other monthly fees. I'm pretty sure most forum software/services, the paid ones that is, require you to pay yearly.

I have known some forum owners who don't bother to care about paying for their licenses renewal whenever it's due unless they have a serious need to do so or when there's a very important upgrade it comes with new licenses renewal before they will do it.

I do not make use of any paid forum software, I have no plans to use paid forum software. My forums do not generate a lot of revenue, therefore, I cannot afford to have paid software. However, I do need to renew my domain and hosting and I always renew one month in advance because that when I receive reminder form my web host

If you're making use of a paid forum software, you already understand the need to renew your forum licenses whenever it's due. You shouldn't have to wait unless you can't afford to pay for it. Your budget for your forum management should cover for your forum licenses renewal, hosting and domain at the minimum.
