Where you live, often we don't realize what others think of when we think of our local things! What is your area known for? Area can be state, country, city, specify as much as you like.

So in the state of Texas - we have a drink that's not in many other places called Big Red, Big Red is a huge deal here in certain areas. I didn't realize this til I was much older and people were all astonished when they can try it. Big Red was founded in Waco, Texas in 1937. Big Red is basically a cream soda.

Whataburger is another big staple here in Texas! It's a 24/7 burger joint! Opened in 1950 originally in Corpus Christi, which is the southern border of Texas and has spread like crazy! There are a few in other states, but it is definitely a Texas place. I love their cheeseburgers and also chicken strips with gravy..

We of course have some more events like things... The State Fair of Texas is a huge deal, President JFK's shooting was in Downtown Dallas... Specifically my city I live in is known for an Axe murder! People live in the house it happened in and everything, and the lady who did it got away with it and lives elsewhere now. There was even a HBO series about her, or it was on Hulu.... Either way

I know many think of Texas as cowboys and horses, but really that's not a big population of Texas anymore, and hasn't been for quite a while.

My home city is the "home" of these beasts.... albeit Rusk gets somewhat more interest as they have slightly more to do there and their park is more "commercialized".
But we actually had Evil Knievel jump trains here locally as well as some movies using our locale for the trains in their productions. Made some "spare change" for many locals as extras.

I didn't realize the soda Big Red originated from Texas! I'm personally not a fan of the soda though. xD Anyways we're known for Toasted Ravioli here! I don't live too far from St. Louis, which is also known for the Gateway Arch. As someone who's lived in Missouri his entire life, I've never actually been up in the Arch before... I'm afraid of heights though. :V

Me, I'm in Brighton in the UK. It's known for being pretty progressive in all areas (we have the only Green party member of parliament in the country, for example), we're one of the most diverse parts of the UK, and we have a very strong creative sector, while we're also a tourist place because we're on the seafront and an hour or so from London.

Texas - "Everything's bigger in Texas!"
What a lot of people don't realize... it takes between 12-14 hours to drive across Texas at it's widest point.
As a comparison, you could drive from San Diego to Portland in about the same amount of time and actually have travelled in 3 states.

Yeah, Texas seems so massive in size that it takes ridiculously long just to travel across it. My sister lives in West Virginia and she can practically visit multiple states within a few hours based on where she lives.

You know it's bad when you are on a trip and your kids are asking "Are we out of Texas yet" after about 6 hours of driving. 🤣

Lol it gets super humid here in Missouri too! I can imagine it gets bad down south though.
Here it is not quite 10PM in Texas, and my dew heaters on the telescopes are getting their workout. Looking at the grass you can already see drops of water like it has rained.

At least it's not like down around Freeport, where this time of night would you not only be dealing with that, but the clouds of mosquitos. You can fire up a Thermacell and they think it's steroids.
