What's the shortest domain one can have?

Is it possible to have a really short domain, maybe even a couple letters? Or would a domain that short be a bad idea? I just feel like the shorter the domain, the easier to remember. What's the lowest amount of letters/characters that a domain needs to work?

It could be 3 character I guess as I seen sex.com sold for big amount 15 years ago but I hardly see site which have less character name. Have you seen any?

Domain comes in letters and it also depends on the industry that you are that will make you determine the type of short name to choose. If you want a short name you can just try out a one word domain for your website development

You cannot get a short domain when you are choosing popular extensions like com, net, org etc. However, if you look into newer extensions you can find short domains, even one word or a couple of letters domain.

I will try to get a domain with less than 5 letters. However, more than the number of letters, I will focus on keywords and easy to remember name so that the domain itself has a search value.

The shortest domain name I have ever registered uses 6 letters. These days it is really difficult to register a short domain name since almost all short domain names seem to be taken. Normally my domains are two words.

I have discovered that you can get one letter domain of you choose less popular extension. However, in most case the shortest domain are already registered

There is no limit on the number of letters you can have in a domain name. You can have as short as two letters words. I have not seen a letter word maybe it didn't exist

I think the shortest domain name you can ever have is the one that have two letters in it. But this domain name can be very scarce to register.
