We all know the usual domains, .com, .net, .org, etc. But what are the alternative ones worth using? I've considered .io .to, and a few others. What are some unique domains you think can draw in some interest? Would be cool if you could make a domain out of a sentence. :D

I always try to stick with the top level domains.
I have never registered any other domain extension apart from .com and .net. I have been thinking of getting my country's domain extension at some point. I have heard that .io is popular but I don't see many other competitors, in my niche using it. So, I won't be opting for it anytime soon.

Still, I think .org is worth a try. Just remember that, more than 50% of the websites, still go with only .com domain extension.

It all depends mostly on what you need them for. Personal I prefer .com and .net

Using countries alternative domain names can be a great move especially if you are targeting traffic's from that location. Because domains ending with a country extension seems to attract a higher level of trust

There are numerous domain names. But it depends on the purpose of the said domain. The most common type include ; .com and .net

If your domain is for an organisation stuff then you can use .org
If the domain is for claim PTC use .Io
If it's for forums or platforms use .com
If it's for pay to write site use .me

hello, it would be great a domain that at first was a prayer, however the best remain for years to date .com .net .ve .org

I honestly used .me on a personal blog, I found it interesting to put my blog name with the extension .me :)

That's funny. I think apart from the traditional domains we all know I think domains from sight should reflect it's contents eg .edu or .tech

You can try any extensions you want however, you will have to consider a couple of things, for example, the renewal cost and the niche. Some domains are really expensive, for example, dot online and dot io are about $32 and $35. Likewise, using dot accountant or dot pizza does not look nice on a company website unless it is related to accountancy and pizza business.

New domain name extension are gain grand in the domain name world. These include the like of dot app, dot xyz, dot live, dot agency, dot ai etc. These domain name extensions give people more opportunities to retain their favorite domain names that are not available on dot and dot net extensions. In fact, I am planning to invest in some dot xyz and hold for sometime before flipping them in the market place.

.com domain name has always been preferred by people that run commercial business firm. And those that runs affiliate marketing business and well-known website owners etc. Why they are using this .com site it's because, it looks easier for audience to search, it is understandable and easy to type and recognise by people.

It really depe on individual choices, I like Co~ .co is launched by godaddy and it is an alternative to .com domain. It is also a worldwide targeting domain extension. It is expensive than .com but it's it bad and it's effective too, Almost as acceptable as .com

Whatever you choose, make sure the renewal charge is not very high.Instead of extension you should rather focus on the name, try to get one or two word domain name. For search engines, all extensions are same, except edu or gov.

I like the new gTLDs (Generic Top Level Domains) like .dev, .xyz, .cool and others like that. I think they make the domain stand out a bit and are a bit fresher compared to the usual .com that you see everywhere. Plus, when used correctly it actually helps give a website some more context.

For example if you have a domain like johndoe.photography, you know if a photography site at first glance.

The generic top level domains might be trending at the moment and being on demand and more expensive than others but i still prefer my dotcom old domain extension.

Whao.. What a detailed and brief explanation. Your explanation even made me to know more of the usage of the is domain name. Jusy that I observed. Com is now expensive

A domain in the .up extension is usually very good, but you have to know that they are usually costly. You could spend up to $40 to get one domain name in .io extension.

Trust me when I say this to you that this other alternative domains extension that you are considering would not draw in traffic because they are not popular and most people will easily forget about them when they want to visit your website.
