Most people now buy things with either PayPal or some other payment means that's not using cash. Personally, I use PayPal most for what I pay for and sometimes cryptocurrency.

We are still making use of cash over here. I bought a rechargeable lantern with cash just last week. I feel that I needed it and the person selling it has some problems with his bank so I decided to pay with cash.

I bought a Mountain Dew at work this morning with cash from one of our vending machines. The machine doesn't have a functioning card reader, the ones that do weren't working but I still used the change I had in my pocket anyways lol.

I used to not use cash but have pivoted and within the last few months have used it way more. Mainly for privacy(banks sell your purchasing info) and for safety against any network crash where debit won't work.

Plus I like to have backup cash because what's in your checking/savings account is legally not yours.
