I would go with any Sony Vegas Version. The software has many features and add-on capabilities for even more features. It also has a awesome built in sound dubber for people who also need to edit sound or clip a track over the original audio in a video. It is extremely expensive I think it tops at around 500.00-600.00, but starts at a little more than 100.00. This of course is for the latest version which is always the most expensive and this is also assuming you don't have a previous licensed copy of Vegas. Upgrading would be much cheaper and I must say that it is excellent software and you should overlook the expense of it, especially if you plan on going professional with video editing. If you want to go cheap you can of course try windows movie maker, but it is less user friendly. I medium between these is Nero which can create DVD menus and things like that, but be warned it is still pretty expensive nothing compared that of Sony Vegas of course.
