What type of content do you display on footer?

I like displaying ads, important site links, recent comments, recent posts, etc. on my footer. As long as the theme I am using allows me to use the footer for different kinds of content, I will always make use of it. I prefer to have a four column footer instead of just one. What do you use the footer for? What kind of content do you display on the footer?

Can be anything but I'm always open to ideas to improve ;) but end of the day you want to help new people and also members :)

I have links for just about anything really, links to pages that are not listed on the menu heading bar, like the staff team or policy and rules page and even the leaderboard. Plus rather than having ads I have affiliates to sites that I'm with :) The end of the day footer on my end is good, I have seen worse footer in my time :p

I display the copyright notices for the few addons that show them (and XF's own copyright, can't afford a 300 removal until our community is making stable income), plus my own custom content.

My custom footer includes the "© 2020 - 2023 Mesozoic Haven" bit, in addition to some links to my stream page, my twitter (I still refuse to call it by its new name lol), and my YT channels.

You stream then in your footer :p

Right now I have a disclaimer on my Gex forum stating it's a unofficial community and that I don't own the rights to the character or franchise. I don't think the company who owns the franchise would go after a fan for having a website, they're not Nintendo after all but I still want to cover my tracks and not get in trouble.

Not much of anything.. ability to change the styles... see the site rules, privacy policy and a very few others things like social media links... I don't tend to spam the footer of the site.

I did something similar with my XF site. I just copy the default XF theme, set it as default (so I have a backup unmodified), then do heavy color customizations. That way, less addon issues more likely.
Same, I like it that way. Having a theme that has it all into it ;) Less damn things to worrying about
