With how many people are starting to move to an online platform the need to get online systems going is increasing at an alarming rate. There are a lot of people that have had to search for alternative income sources during the pandemic and much of them have done so online, either through sales online or through blogging and receiving money from advertisements and engagements. There are also a lot of websites that now allow you to create your own website in a simple and easy way. When you utilize these sites do you tend to use your own layout and structure for the site or do you tend to rely on their templates as your starting point?

It's good to use pre-defined templates from development sites such as WordPress. It makes your work much easier. I would light colors that are pleasing to the eye. You can choose the colors and theme depending upon the content of your website. If you are developing a children's website, incorporate bright and flashy colors to attract them. You can also use beautiful images to enhance your website.

I use default themes for my blogs and forums and build off of that. I will change things around and make the landing page/main page be as fast as possible in terms of load speed. I also make sure to prioritize mobile usage as most people will be using the site on a phone these days.

There are a lot of templates that i have seen on various websites such as this one and even on wix as well, and from what i see they are good layouts that are easy to navigate, however the concern that i have with this is that your website will start to have a generic feel and therefore you will lose that unique streak or quality.

It depends on what kind of sites you are running. For my blogs, I usually go with a 3-column layout, for forums I go with a single column with full width. There are n o rules for layout and you should use the one that you find good and matches your preference.

Most of my sites have simple layouts, with a navigation menu to the right of my site, the main menu at the top of my site with a nice fancy graphic, some social links and then my blog is right to the left and that's it. At least when it comes to my blogs. My blogs look like blogs, nothing too crazy there.
