What is the ideal length of a domain?

Times have changed and in this day and age, it seems that having an easy-to-remember or catchy domain name is ideal. Some are longer, some are short. I guess there is a bit of a mix in between. In your opinion, what would you say the ideal length is in characters?

The ideal length of a domain name is 8 characters. It is easy to remember and spell. It is recommended to have your brand name in it. It must not contain hyphens and numbers.

Well, this was an issue in the past, but today, you just need to make it as short and memorable as possible. How short is relative. But i usually try to keep them less than 12 characters. That way, it is easy to remember and will fit well in most address bars on mobile web browsers.

Yes, you are absolutely right. The domain name should be catchy & attractive. The most important thing is it should be easy to spell. Few websites fail because it's hard to type their website's name. All the most successful sites' names are short and easy to spell for example Amazon, Google, Facebook...
