What dog breeds are easy to train?

A friend wants to get a dog but has never owned one and is worried he will not be able to train it.

In terms of being easy to train, which breed of dog would be good for a beginner? He wants a dog that is 60 to 100 pounds.

I have a German shepherd dog breed. He was very easy for me to train and he catches up very quickly. I believe that is the reason why the military and police make use of German shepherd dog breed. They are very smart breed.

Pitbull or bulldogs are the breeds I wouldn't recommend for you to start out with because they tough and violent breed.
