What can you do to encourage more sign-ups?

Say you have a good amount of traffic coming but not a lot of sign-ups. How can you encourage people to put the effort into signing up for your forum without seeming desperate or anything of the sort?

If your forum niche is interesting, the traffic coming to your forum will convert many of them into sign ups but there must be high quality contents in your forum. Content is king for forum, if your forum have high quality engaging contents, there will be many sign ups.

I have been running forums since 2019 and in my experience just because you have an interesting niche or interesting posts on your forum does not mean you will get a lot of sign ups. These days only way to get sign ups on your forums is through incentives.

Advertising your forum on promotional website is one of the best way that you can get a lot of people to sign up on your community when you finally launch it. There are so many forum users on those promotional website which makes it very easy to get people who have interest in using forums to sign up on your platform. Also, you should try and run a lunch contest so that it will encourage more people to join your forum immediately you launch it.

If your having enough traffic but little sign up on the site, there several ways you can convert those traffic to sign ups. One of it is the premium/pro access, if your the owner or admin of the site, you probably know what is driving much traffic to the site. If it is content that is driving you traffics, you can decide to limit the view of the content by making maybe 4 to 5 paragraphs visible to visitors and then encouraging pop ups telling them to signup as site users to get full access to content. This is a known strategy used by top platform like medium.

Now if your traffic is coming from sales, you can decide to give discounts to those who orders the product as a signed up user.

I do not think advertising your forum on other forums actually works unless you tell in your ad that you are offering incentives. As far as I am concerned, one of the best ways to get more sign ups as well as activities is by buying posting services on various webmaster and promotional forums.
