Abortion is a hot issue all over the world. Please keep the discussion in here tame. Don't get offensive or hateful please.

My view is this. I'm pro choice. If a woman wants an abortion, I think she should have the right to do it. My view on it is more to do with overpopulation and all that. But I also respect the choice a woman has with her own body.

What are your views on this?

When it comes to abortion I have always been pro-choice and I still am now. I am a firm believer that a woman should have the right to choose what happens to her body and she should also have the right to decide if she wanted an abortion or not.

I am not someone who agrees that abortion should be used as a form of birth control though and I believe abortion should be something that is considered and happens because it is either confirmed that going through with the pregnancy would be fatal to the mother or the unborn child and also in the case of rape if the woman was raped and does not want to keep the baby. These are the only reasons I believe women should be allowed to have an abortion without being judged.

Unfortunately, we do live in a world where many people are always judged, and in some cases, that results in women not going through with something that would be in their best interest due to their health.

I don't have interest in abortion since my religion is against it. I will just accept my fate and welcome the new baby to the world. I believe there will be remedy when the baby arrives to the world instead of returning a glorious child.

I support abortion. What is the point in bringing a child with congenital anomalies to this world knowingly. The parents of these children and the children themselves suffer a lot during the course of their life.

Abortion needs to be a choice for woman I can't believe that mostly men can decide that woman can't get it and then they complain why babys are thrown away many womans are victims of... and I can't imagine how it feels to them when they can't even do abortion

The only way I will support having an abortion is ;

1. If you're rapped and got pregnant in the process.
2. If a pregnant wife (married) life is threatened by the pregnancy, they ought to get ride of the pregnancy.
3. If it's seen the baby have abnormalities in forming.

I won't support abortion for any other reasons outside those options.

I had always go against Abortion no matter what while i was growing up. But with the fact that I had learnt few things about Pregnancy, I will say there are times where an Abortion might be needed, so as to help the mother and also the baby's future.

It is easier said than done when religion is being dragged into it. A lot of people will still do it to save their health and reputation and I believe that it is a choice and one everyone should respect too because I see no point with that.

There's always a mixed feelings and opinions against and for abortion but if we are looking at it objectively, the right call is looking at use in the face because it's in plain black and white colour.

Abortion shouldn't be something you can walk into the hospital and ask for it to be done and it's granted. It's murder and in law, there are murder that can be justified and one's that can't be. This is how it should be with abortion. If there's no good justification for your abortion, it shouldn't be granted.

I'm against it. If I'm raped, closed adoption to protect the child from the rapist dad. The kid deserves a chance at life, and they don't deserve to die because of selfishness.

Making it a question of a woman's body is insensitive - there are three people, the woman, the man (in the case of the non-rapist), and the child. I'm sure some woman has broken a man's heart by aborting his baby that he wanted to save. It breaks trust down between the genders that needs to be preserved. And children need to be able to rely on Mom to take care of them, not get rid of them.

However, sometimes it has to be done, in the case of ectopic pregnancy - there's no way for the kid to live. If you have a medical reason where your life is threatened, I'm not going to come after you with the "murderer!" accusation. Save mom first, and try to save the child.

Once there's a health issue involved in the pregnancy, it's always going to be in the best interest of the mother to abort the pregnancy. It will be a cruel decision to bring in a child to the world knowing that he or she is going to suffer for the rest of their lives. Also, when the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother, it should be removed.

If it's to save a life, religion can't stop it. Anyone who choose religion over life is delusional. Religion will never ask you to kill but it won't ask you to leave yourself to die too. It's a matter of which life can be saved over the other.

I wouldn't want to talk much about religion and the challenges that it can bring, but I can remember how sad I felt when I lost a friend to the cold hands of death because her religion doesn't allow blood transfusion when one is sick. It was a painful one that I never imagined that it could get closer to someone that I cared about.

She wanted to die, her church and family wanted her to die too. This is the only reason they are going to decline having a blood transfusion to be carried out on her that's the only means she can be able to save it from dying.

If I were a doctor of the hospital where she was receiving treatment, I will overlook whatever her parents, her church thinks and including her and give her the blood transfusion. When she survives, let her decide that use her hand to kill herself.

I don't really care what people think about it because my opinion won't affect anything, but if it was my wife I wouldn't want it in any case because I would accept any child even if it had certain deviations.

I'm against it, generally speaking. However, in extreme cases where the baby is incredibly deformed, way beyond something normal, something that seems like from science-fiction (not being mocking here), then there is an strong ethical debate going on. Anyway, in these extreme cases, I'm guessing probably the mother is at fault for drug use during pregnancy.
