What are the challenges facing e-commerce?

Apart from a lack of awareness, I believe that one of the big challenges facing is commerce is the payment issue. Paypal does not support many countries and this is why many people living in countries with no Paypal are not able to pay clients where it is supported. We need to make payment systems more flexible.

The payment issue here is not just about the payment center or payment processor. The problem is the COD arrangement which is cash on delivery. Many are ordering but not paying when the product is delivered. The business is experiencing losses on delivery.

My take on the challenges of the e-commerce sites is the authenticity of the sellers. There are so many fake products that are being advertised in Facebook. I have not checked the largest e-commerce site here for fake products but I'm sure there are some. However, when there is a complaint on the seller it is immediately suspended and probably removed from their roster of sellers. If the e-commerce has a way of checking their sellers then there will be no such problem on fake products.

Just recently in my country, there is a prank call to a delivery food business to deliver the food to the house of a celebrity. The celebrity never called the food delivery but it was other person who called.

There are many countries that are also facing the same challenge. In my country (Pakistan), E-commerce is growing a lot. However, there are many people who are not that much literate about how digital world works and this means that e-commerce is suffering due to this issue.
