What are some of the most innovative and influential video game genres?

Most genres I get into are the action, adventure, sports, shooter genres. But I am open to other genres as long as they're fun. For you, what are the most innovative and influential video game genres?

I think MMORPG is the most innovative and influential. I love FPS, but combine that concept with MMORPG such as Destiny and it is magical.
