Weirdest forum names

Advertisement Placeholder
The weirdest forum name I ever seen is "somethingawful" or something like that lol I really find that this is a stupid name for a forum isn't it ?

This is something that i have never come across before however i am sure that there are a lot of those out there. I focus on crypto and webmaster forums and so most of them are well named.

Have you ever come across forums with weird names? If so, what was the strangest?

I've never come across an odd name.

I have never encountered any kind of forum with weird names. If I were to start a forum, I would choose a decent and pretty simple name as it attracts more traffic.

Forums with long names aren't easily remembered and also the name needs to look original and something promising and easily to be remembered by someone.

I guess that long URLs and domains do not get ranked well in the search engine as well. This is why they do not get enough traffic. This is much better to use shorter domains and urls so that Google bots could find your site easily.

Honestly I have never found any strange names on fourms just yet most of the top ranked ones on Google generally have pretty standard and tame names haha! I'm keen to see what everyone else finds

Strange can be subjective due to different perspectives.
How strange are we talking here? I'm Edam, like the cheese.

Creating strange names will not offer any real benefits. In fact,l it might make some people think that you might not be serious about the forum and they may not register.

Two Plus Two and Somethingawful is two forum names that I find to be very weird. Two Plus Two is mostly just funny because when you hear it or someone say it, you might think he's trying to ask you what's the sum result but as for Somethingawful, it's 100% weird and off.

Well, majority of the forum owners would choose a really simple name, at least this is what I would do. I would definitely include the term "forum" in the name or url of the forum.

Oh boy somethingawful has been around for decades! xD It's a interesting name but I think it fits the whole purpose of the forum. It's similar to 4chan if I remember correctly... As for the weirdest name I've come across was Offtopix original name Wober. I've also named one of my forums poog, which stood for "Paranormal Oddity Observation Group". (Originally I got it from the word goop spelled backwards but came up with the abbreviation! xD)

I have not come across any weird forum name, maybe that's because I have not been on a lot of forums. The forum names on the forums I have accounts make sense to me.

This is something I haven't come across before, but I'm sure there are many. Most of them are aptly named because I focus on crypto and webmaster forums.

I suppose that lengthy domains and URLs do not perform well in search engine rankings.
They don't receive enough traffic because of this.
Use shorter domains and urls to make it easier for Google bots to find your website.

I use niche-based names for my forums. For example, my insurance niche forum is named Insurance Discussion, crypto based forum is named Crypto Education and Lifestyle and Health niche forum is named Lifestyle and Health
