Anyone tried it (even a local install)? https://waterhole.dev/

It's an interesting one for sure, I'm not sure it's entirely worth the asking price yet but we shall see. I haven't because I'm not interested in building forums any more but I figured it was worth putting on peoples' radars so they know there *are* other choices.

Looks like (from visuals) simply another Disource/Flarum clone. Their support site is rather barren in posts also.
And sorry... personally I'm not going to fork over almost $300 USD for something that is only in a 0.3 release version. Maybe once it grows up and hits 1.0->

Does load fast but the comparison to Discourse they are doing is rather ridiculous. The 300 USD price tag is definitely not worth it. I'd much much rather go with Invision Community or any other platform for that matter. I'll pass.

Honestly from the looks of things it looks just like a Discourse/Flarum clone. I don't think it's worth $300, especially since it's still brand new and only on version 0.3. I'll probably keep up with the project just to see how it evolves.I also can't help but to think of the line "A waterhole?! What's so great about a waterhole?" from The Lion King every time I read the name of the software. :V
