Turning words into affiliate links

How do you feel about plugins and features that allow you to automate certain words as links?

And then how do you feel about adding affiliate links as the word replacements?

Do you think this is a good way to monetize your forum? Or would it be more annoying to your members?

As a forum member, would this annoy you? If so, why?

As a member, certainly annoying. I have seen forums do that and never liked it.

I would fear it would annoy people more than it would earn you revenue.

I don't think I could ever do the feature here.

I agree. It is kind of tricking users. When I hover on iPad, I would like to see a relevant link, not to some ad service.
