How much time do you spend on your forum/blog/site? How much time do you think is acceptable to spend on your site to make it successful? Do you think someone can spend too much time on their site?

To make a forum/website successful, you need to dedicate a lot of time into setting it up. This means; adding plugins, uploading themes, adding forums, graphics, and anything to make your forum/website spectacular. I had a forum once, and it took me a day to set up my forum. The forum flunked. I would take about a week or two to get things ready and to find staff members to help you out with the set-up of your forum and/or website. Take this advice. I didn't take a lot of time..and it did it work out so well? No.

There is no magic number as far as how much time is needed to get your forum off the ground. As Jake said, it is usually better to spend more than just a day on the initial set up. That shows that you're serious, and you didn't just create the forum on a whim one day. As the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. The best forums probably weren't either. Personally, I try to spend a lot of time planning and preparing my forum. In the past, I have spent a month or two slowly constructing the forum before I officially opened it.

Can someone spend more too much time on their site? I guess they can. There is no magic number for that either though. It depends on each individual. If your site is interfering with more important aspects in your life, then that is definitely a problem.

I spend several hours a day managing my community, as well as posting on it. I don't think there's really a set time that's good, it varies from webmaster to webmaster. But, yes, you can spend too much time on your board. If you spend all day on it and don't do anything else, that's an issue, in my opinion.

I guess it depends on how serious you are. Some people run websites as a job. In that case, those people obviously are going to spend far more time on them.

I spend most of the day working on my forum. About 4 or 5 hours. The rest, I'm busy!

I spend around 3-4 hours daily on other promotional forums and In my forum most of the time I am online you can say 6-8 hours.

Wow, that is a lot! Did you include the time on promotion forums in your online time?
