The .xyz domain extension - What do you think of it?

Some say it means nothing. However, I think it could mean random stuff. For instance, business.xyz, could mean any random business.

I'm not sure I'd trust anything on a .xyz domain for, well, anything.

I think it's a good domain for your own personal projects like a forum, though lots of scams usually use .xyz for their sites since they're cheap domain names to get.

They’re cheap and cheerful if you can’t afford to spend much money. I’d rather use that than a subdomain etc. However if you can afford a more premium extension like .com and .net etc then I’d definitely go for those as it’ll build more trust and therefore more likely to attract new members.

What do you all think xyz means? Well, in US history there was the XYZ affair. Anyhow, I think .XYZ is good for directories or maybe some math or physics site.

I've never really had a good impression of .xyz so I'd probably just avoid it because of that. Ultimatly if I'm going to click on a unknown link that had .xyz at the end I'd think twice.

Maybe it could work as a resource site? I.e. you could host files, databases, backups on {site}.xyz while using a more trusted TLD such as {site}.com to run the site proper.
