The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir is one of the earliest books on feminism. It was published in 1949 and the book is still relevant. The things analyzed in the book are still relevant in our society. The book discusses treatment of women through out the history. Simone de Beauvoir is a French writer and existential philosopher. I read the book when I was a ninth grader. I cannot say how much I understood back then, however, I do remember some of the points discussed in the book. It is a good book to understand the pain and suffering of women.
