Strategies to enhance user engagement

What strategies have you found most effective for increasing user engagement and participation in your online community? Are those strategies still relevant?

If you have quality content, it is very likely that there will be user engagement. User engagement implies a lot of things, from leaving comments to checking multiple pages and even engaging with ads on your site. If your site displays relevant ads, there will be engagements on the ads as well.

It is very important for you to have high quality content on your community because this is one of the best ways that you can be able to improve users engagement in your forum. When members find something that is worth getting into it's discussion, there will be likely pushed to engaged on that topic.

Me being active and putting in the effort. I know it sounds stupid but when you are active yourself, even if you are posting threads and questions to next to no one, it encourages people to sign up and chat.

There is nothing that encourages forum members like the forum owner being very active on his own community. This is going to be something that will drive others to contribute in the same way the owner is contributing.

This is the reason why I find it very encouraging to participate in a forum that the owner is taking part in activities that is going on in the platform.
