Staff post count

Advertisement Placeholder
I think that it would be beneficial if the staff member would have a certain number of posts on the forum (unless you already know this person from somewhere else). It give you a better idea of how that person behaves and how they present themselves to other people. You can't tell that if they have so few posts or none at all.

I think that it doesn't depends on the post numbers only, but Only on the posts quality and the person personality, I can't make someone staff on my forums with a child personality !

If it's a new forum, then I wouldn't consider their post count, though if it's an established forum, then I'd require them to be active around the community and have a certain amount of post count before I promote them to the staff role as they need to prove themselves, ofcourse.

As long as the given staff member has been around for some time, I see no reason to require a certain post count. Regardless of the matter, I firmly believe in only hiring members that have been around for a while and have experienced the forum. It makes no sense to take a member that has been on your forum for only three months as apposed to one that has been around for 3 days.

When looking for staff members, I focus on their experience and knowledge of the niche, forum software, as well as handling situations. I also require staff members to know how to enforce our rules, as well as stay calm and control their temper.

I think potential staff members, and staff members in general, should have a high post count because content and activity is important. Since they're staff, or trying to be, they should lead by example and engage in many discussions as possible to keep things rolling.

It is very important for a member to have certain number of posts so as to his or her skills because a staff is expected to merit some distinguished attribute

I think that it all depends on how long you have known the person for and if they are active on other forums that you know because then you can forfeit this rule.

I don't have any staff working on my site. But when I do, would ask them to use the site and interact as a customer before joining the team. So that they understand the user's perspective. And they would be able to provide better support and guidance to the users.

That is a very good idea because then they have the knowledge to be on both sides of the transaction and experience and this could make them more dedicated to their work as well.

I suppose that it might be useful if the group of workers member might have a sure wide variety of posts at the forum (until you realize this character from someplace else). It provide you with a higher concept of ways that character behaves and the way they gift themselves to different people. You cannot inform that in the event that they have so few posts or none at all.

If the forum is brand-new, I wouldn't take into account their post count, but if it's already established, I'd require them to be active in the community and have a particular number of posts before I move them to the staff role because they obviously need to show themselves.

Well, at first I thought this thread is about having a minimum post count for staff, every month. After all it's one of their duties to keep the website active. Looks like I got it wrong this time.

As for the usual staff post count, it depends. Just because someone posts a lot doesn't mean that they can manage well and also someone who don't have enough posts might manage very well.
So, it all comes down to their skill set. Usually it is better to give them a temporary position and if they pass the hurdles, then you can promote them to a permanent position.
In this way you don't have to offend them completely, if you have decided that they are not fit for managing your website.

I do not have that rule. However, on forums where I am a staff there are rules before you are eligible to apply as a staff and some of the common rules are have certain num,ber of posts and be a member for at least 30 days.
