Spam sucks, I'm going to tell you some plugins you can use to fix that! As you can see though, this isn't one of my opinionated posts where I write stuff about everything. This is a list of things I've found.

1. Akismet
Your typical first plugin ever installed onto your website. This works great and all, but you may want to find a different plugin.

2. WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam
"Supports: Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms, JetPack Contact Forms & Comments, BuddyPress, bbPress, WooCommerce, s2Member, WP-Members, Mailchimp, Fast Secure Contact Form, Formidable Forms, almost all WordPress forms, and almost all WordPress registration forms. Automatically!"

Yeah, sounds good right? Download!

3. Anti-Spam
Sometimes you need to go simple. Here's as simple as simple can simply be!

4. Anti-Spam by CleanTalk - No Captcha, no comments & registrations spam
On the other side of the spectrum, you might want less simple. Here's less simple.

5. WordPress Zero Spam
It has a "super" hero on the banner for the plugin. That means it's good, right? If anything, no captcha because it's not the user's fault. In reality, don't potential viewers make the bots? Meaning it is their fault.

Sorry if you wanted something incredible. I will be making a bunch of posts that'll actually make you like me soon.

I've used Akismet and it's extremely useful! :) I will try to install all the plugins that you mentioned.

If requested, I can write a little bit more in depth.
Which would you say is the most valuable from an overall standpoint? Considering resources used to run, cost of plugin (is there a cost?), Overall results of plugin...

Would be good to know if one would do the trick or if a combination of plugins is the best solution.

I've been ok with just using WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam. Using a combination will make some of them compete with each other, and you never want that.
