Well, they reinforce what your site is, it being a website. Do you think this ending is catchy? Who uses .site and .website? Myself, I know of only one site personally. It's a coding forum. Anyway, I think the ending fits well with the domain. It was a good choice.

I once had a site that used dot site domain. I also had a domain with dot website extension. After renewing these domains for a couple of years, I decided to drop them down because domain maintenance was getting costly for me. I started using these domains because I found them under $1 but I was not interested in these domains, though
