Should you volunteer for work without pay ever?

Volunteers don't get the privilege of having their feeding allowance being covered by the company they are working for. It's not a bad thing for such companies to pay for their feeding too but all of them are trying so hard to cut down on cost, thereby there's no room for paying for volunteers food.

I think that certain organisations may, indeed, offer food. However, I think that it may be complimentary, not an obligation. For example, a company may offer job. However, a few companies do offer complimentary lunch as well. So, it depends on the organisation and where you are volunteering.

This is actually a personal choice we have to make actually but since we are not on a moral topic where we have to talk about offering voluntary service to people but on the topic of business, I would say that it's not advisable to work without pay.

Yes I could volunteer for such but it depends on what I'm going to be doing exactly if what I'm going to be doing for them is not something I am passionate about, I will not do it because I need a lot of drive to be able to give out my time just like that even though I'm going to be learning along the way.

Of course I can voluntarily work for free for friends when they are not feeling well. It usually gives me joy to help people without any form of compulsion. Some people has also helped me too..

I have volunteered to work for free several times in my neighborhood. I usually get engaged with community services where I clean drainages and pack the dirt's for free...

Many people feel that volunteering and working for no pay at all is a bad thing I do not look at the bigger picture at all.

Volunteer work as much as it may be unpaid, is giving you something that you can use later on to allow yourself to get into a well-paid job and that is experience.

With so many businesses wanting to hire people who have experience, if you can get that whilst volunteering, it's a great thing and will lead to a lot of success when it comes to looking for work.

Personally, I have worked for a company where our boss used to buy us launch sometimes. It's not a volunteer job but a paid job but whenever he wants, he would order for food for all the staff. He's the always available in the office kind of boss and it's why he always do it whenever he wanted.

Unfortunately, many employers would not do that. This is because they are reluctant to spend money on volunteers. In fact, many employers do not offer food to their regular staff members. This is why many volunteers may face issues.

Yes I can volunteer to work for someone without pay if the experience and knowledge I could acquire from the job is something that could aid me in future.
I have volunteered to work for someone for free. I did that for one year and I was better for doing that..

As long as the knowledge that you gained from working for a year free of charge for someone was worth it, then, I don't see it as a big deal. The most important thing is becoming better at the work that you do and not because you want to be paid immediately. There are some skills that you will even to pay in order to acquire while working for someone or a company.

I would if this is for a cause that I support like environmental work or for organizations that help stray animals. I'm willing to give my time for free.
I've worked on something similar to this. It wasn't on a big scale project but when one of our neighbours dog got lost in the woods. I was among the one's who volunteered to good deep into the woods to search for the dog. We searched for 2 days before we found the dog.

The only thing that could make me work for free is only if the knowledge that I acquire could set up for life . I can imagine volunteer for a job that does not interest and have no lifetime benefits for me. I would not take up such offers..

Yeah, you're very correct with this statement. I have worked for a lot of people and it's only the man that had it in him to buy launch for all of his workers without any kind of discrimination or favoritism. He was the best boss I have worked for.

I know some people take internships that don't pay, and some people volunteer their time for free to help out with certain jobs. But have you ever volunteers to work without pay? I did a while back, where I did some work for a friend. But it wasn't much.

I think it's a good thing to volunteer once in a while, because it helps build character, and also helps build out your resume. Would you volunteer if there was a good thing to come out of it?
It is totally fine to volunteer without pay. When people have a passion for stuff, they do not mind if they are getting paid or not. As long as it feels their heart. As you said, it builds character, resume, and experience.

The experience a volunteer will get from the job is what matters because when he or she is expected to pay for that knowledge and experience, it's going to be more costly than what they are being paid. People go to any extent just to gain the knowledge they are after.

The reason why I always try as much as possible to make myself available to take on some work that I'm not going to be paid is because of the knowledge that I am going to gain from contributing in giving the services in that line of work. This is because there is no way I'm going to be able to get the knowledge from another place without having to spend a lot of money paying for it.

I don't mind working for my family for no pay at all as I feel I should be helping my family and should not be trying to earn anything by doing that.

Sometimes my family do tend to offer me money for my help and the work I do and even though I decline, they tend to insist that I take it.

My family own a car spare parts auto shop business where they specialise in selling of spare parts of all japanese cars. When there's need for me to support the business in purchasing and supply of the needed parts they sell, I suspend everything that I'm doing to go where importers are selling those parts to buy and supply to my family. I do all that for free.

I have worked for my family and I never used to receive payment for that. I used to work for free. However, I used to receive pocket money from my parents. This was the time when I used to work for free. However, I never mind it at all. Things became hard when I was forced to seek a job.

If it supports a good cause yes or to help friends and family, But not day labor where it seems like advantage using.
I've worked for free without pay in the past and it's because I was committed to the cause. I've worked as an intern for two companies and it was for free without any pay. I did it for the knowledge I was looking for. Today, I don't work for free as I need to be paid for any work I do.
