Should we give up on MyBB?

MyBB is old news. I’ve said it before and will keep saying it. If you need a decent free software, SMF and phpBB are far better choices.

MyBB was one of the first "real" forum scripts I played with. But that was before mobil use for accessing sites became popular. It just hasn't kept up with the times. But that is true for most of the old free scripts. It seems that the developers get stuck into that deeply dug rut of what was and can't jump out onto that new path of what needs to be.

With my limited knowledge, I found phpbb difficult to use, so when I decided to launch another forum, I went with MyBB. MyBB is easy to use, however, when I started using MyBB I found a lot of issues. While the lack of responsiveness is one issues, I also encountered issues with mods. Some mods do not work properly. I am thinking to go back to SMF.
