When I say free domain, I don't mean those TLD that you get free as an offer from web hosts, what I mean by free domain is the domain that you can register with free domain registry. Whwn I say free web host, I don't mean the web hosts that give you free hosting as a promotional offee or free for a limited time. When I say free web host I mean web hosts that are completely free. Now, back to my question. I have never owned a website and now I am interested to create my first website. I have zero knowledge on website creation and management. Therefore, for learning and gaining experience, is it a good idea to try free domain and free web hosting?

I have a friend who made his first website in a free hosting which was based in the UK. He said that it was just a trial because he wanted to learn first before getting a real domain and a real hosting. The free hosting (with domain use) was okay except that it was very slow and was full of advertisements. My take on the slow access is the lots of ads on the web page which was impeding the access. But for a newbie I guess a free hosting is good since it is free.

Free web hosting is good. You are going to get the same things with paid hosting such as security, network brandwidth and port speed but there will be no extra features such as customer support. The bandwidth and the port speed will also be limited.
It is better to get a paid web hosting platform.

Yes, basically I see free domain and free hosting as a starting point for new Bea, it will help them practice more about how the premium domain and hosting works...

New Bea has no huge traffic yet coming to his or her site so starting with free hosting and domain will not be a bad idea

Getting free domain and hosting Isn't the big deal here but I think if you want to be professional with your products and services or even wants to get credit for what you do, you shouldn't even try out free domains and hosting because there are limited things you can do when it comes with getting all these things for free while planning to develop a website

Since you need both a domain name and web hosting to start any type of website, it makes a lot of sense to purchase them together, so you can get the domain name for free. If for some reason you don't want to use Bluehost to get a free domain name, then you can use HostGator, Dreamhost, GreenGeeks or InMotion Hosting

Since the past years that I have been building websites for clients, I have never seen a registrar who give out free domain names or free web hosting accounts. Well it is possible to have a websites on the internet without registering a domain name or hosting account. You can head over to wordpress sign up and start building a website with free template, albeit you will have only sub-domajn name.

If you have never owned a website and have zero knowledge on website management, free domain and free hosting will be a good option because you will be learning and gaining experience without spending a dime. However, if you are serious about having a website then you must be willing to spend some money.

I do not advise newbie to try free domains because it doesn't have any value you can just go ahead and buy a domain after all it is not expensive and start your online business professionally and grow with it with this people will know you from the scratch, sometimes freedom in doesn't offer the best service as a normal doing

Since you are a newbie as stated in your post you can give it a try but you shouldn't be expecting premium bonuses that comes with premium hosting or plans with. Ssl and high storage capacity. Also you shouldn't upload heavy files to your website like videos and animation of high quality so as not to slow down the speed and load time.

If such plans are available to you as a newbie, I'd say you take it. Learn the ropes of how to design your webpage with it. Get to know terms you are not familiar with in the web design space to get more aquatinted with things.

There are lots of free hosting domains you can get when you register your website. But since it is a free package it comes with lots of disadvantages such as too much ads and it is slow to load up, all this can get your website visitor bored and stop coming around.

I don't see any problem as long as your motive is to learn and see for yourself and check whether this works for you or not. However, if you are serious about starting your website or blog, there is no harm in spending $30 to buy a domain and hosting. That's not a big amount to spend on something that has the potential to grow into a big business.

On the comical side, I don't see many sites getting that big anyway. It's really not a big deal to get free hosting and a free domain, unless you have some thing against the "looks" of free domains, like they are cheap, strange, or something.

Well, with my situation, one problem was the difficulty of installing the free SSL. In that case, I figured switching to a 2-dollar a month reseller was worth it.

For learning and testing purpose, free domain and free hosting can be good. You may build a site on free domain and hosting and run for a couple of months. However, if you want to own a site for a longer period, you need a self hosted site. If you don't want to spend money, you mau try free hosted site.

There is nothing wrong with going with a free hosting and domain option for your first website. It can be great as a start especially as you can learn a lot by doing so. But it's important to realise that it should probably only be used for learning and testing purposes like you stated. If you're looking to create a serious website and business then the best option is to buy a proper TLD and get some paid hosting that is fast, reliable and not too expensive.

For anyone looking at being present online, picking the right hosting plan is important. The included free domain helps get your web project set up and online in no time. There are a number of free hosts available who help you create a website on one of their subdomains without any upfront costs.

If your goal is to get more education and gain experience it is not a bad idea to use free hosting and domain. If you have a serious project of course I would not recommend using free hosting and domain. If your experience is 0 I recommend using it

Free hosting is a good option when starting off as a new blogger with no former experience whatsoever.
With this, you can try within a year to see how you fare in the market.Running a website with all content creation and SEO can put pressure and take a toll on the owner especially when all effort invested is not yielding decent traffic .
So if after a year you can see yourself still going on with it, then you can go for a paid hosting. But just make sure to have gotten your domain name registered.

It's not a bad idea to start with free domain and free hosting if you're not sure of what blogging entails.

This will give you a month or two, up to a year to decide, and develop your skills to the point you can start paid hosting.
