Short usernames, what do you think?

On your forum, how short do you allow usernames to be? What do you think about short usernames?

Personally, I find usernames less than 3 characters super annoying, especially those that allow one character usernames, it just...annoys me. xD

I too find short usernames as spam, rather a full name or something meaningful look a genuine member.

I honestly don't care. If they are an active member of the board and have 1 character then what difference does it make to me?

Although I would prefer them to have name so I know what to call them by!

I don't really have a preference with regards to username length. I guess having a short username could be a reward for users that joined the forum early enough to get that name!

Three characters is normally the minimum for me.

I really don't care what username they use as long as they contribute to the forum. Your username shouldn't reflect what you're capable of on the forum.

We tend to make it so that all members need a minimum of 3 letters in a username and a maximum of 25 letters. It really does not matter to me how long a username is or what their username is as long as they are a genuine active member on the forum. People have nicknames and people have names that are only 3 letters long so I feel that not allowing them to have their nickname or name wouldn't be great for a forum especially if they are a genuine member.

I like to think my username is fairly short, if not its not as long. I am not a huge fan of long usernames as that is putting it hard on the person trying to tag you or something of that nature.

Although I do not have any specific nickname rule in my forum, I expect everyone to have more than 2 letters in his/her nickname.

Every member in my forum has a nickname consisting of over 3 letters, so I am happy about that.
