Are you a fan of any of the modern adaptations of Sherlock Holmes? I love the BBC series "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch and the movies (first one was better) with Robert Downey Jr.. I haven't seen Elementary yet but it is on my list.

Our TV package doesn't contain BBC so I can't really watch it legally and since I'm not a big enough fan of Sherlock Holmes, I don't feel like watching it online.

I think if you give it one chance you would change your mind. It is hilariously awesome. Also it's like a newer version of Shelock Holmes in the current time, not the older/original one.

Watched the first 5 episodes of Elementary. It's good, very good in fact but having seen Cumberbatch and RDJ in the Sherlock role it would have to be my least favourite.

I myself has yet to get into the tv series. But I have watched the movies and enjoyed them. I also agree the first one was the better half.

They're excellent. You are missing out. I actually decided, having caught up to the latest episode, that Jonny Lee Miller's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes (in Elementary) may be different but it is actually excellent.

Thus far they have avoided any sexual tension, which is good for the show. Sherlock is only interested / loves in one woman: Irene Adler. She has filled much the same role. I suppose you don't get the male companionship. There may be a few more "feelings" conversations (which aren't really conversations because Sherlock avoids them). I think the swap also has something to do with causing Sherlocks character development which doesn't truely occur in the other adaptations.
