Reputation Given

Do you have an add on, or a code that provides a "Reputation system"? Do you like these systems in place on forums? What benefit are they to your community? Do you personally go and add reputation for users, or do you just have the system installed?

What would you do about a user who often just puts negative feedback for no real reason?

I have a reputation system installed in my forum. It's more easier for the reputation to be assigned by the system when a member reached the status to get the reputation. It's too much for me to add the reputation manually when an add on will make life easier with it.

I use open source forum platforms and I have not explored additional add-ons for the software I use. I am only using the default system. There is like button that a user can use if he likes the content. I have not utilized other kinds of reputations on my forums.
