Do you use a "quirky" 404 page for your site (if your script allows to to configure such with add-ons or natively)? This is mine using an add-on with XenForo.

That's cool. I don't plan on having something like that, but you never know. :p

It's honestly a simple thing that many admins don't think about. A base "404 not found" link is what many sites default to.. and yes, it works... but adding a little humor into the mix can make the day "better". ;)

Definitely agree with you there. @Nebulous also had a clever 404 page, one that would even fit yours @Tracy. :p

I really love the one you're using. I don't think I've ever customized it before, but it's a cool thing, and perhaps less annoying to come across other than a big "404 ERROR" screen.

Honestly the 404 page should have a list of suggested content on it as well.
The problem is, you would really want ES installed as your search engine to provide qualitative returns since simple mySQL search tends to suck. You would probably need a custom add-on that deduce the bad link and then perform a search based upon it....
Meanwhile, the add-on I use has templating abilities, so you could probably insert the search box into it.
Something like this (so says Marvin)....once I can get the template to accept input.

<EDIT>
Well, more trouble that I want to mess with.... so I simply made Marvin's image a link to internal Google search for the site.

Damn...Shutterstock isn't cheap for simple individual images... but I guess I can't complain about $14. Found one that actually fits into the niche.
