Promoting one of your sites on another site you own?

Have you ever used one site to promote another site that you own and operate? I am not talking about using your personal social accounts but actual websites you run and operate as well as own yourself. I am considering doing this to see if it brings over some traffic.

If you have a site that gets a lot of traffic, promoting your other site to this site can be helpful. If your sites are in the same niche, this kind of cross-promotion can be useful. I have done this in the past, and I still do it sometimes.
