Private Messages

Are you big on private messaging members? Do you prefer to chat out in the open instead?

How many privates would you say you send and receive in any given month?

Theres a couple people I chat with on occasion through PM's. Mainly its just for people needing help with forum related stuff or if they have a question about my community.

I am not a fan of using private messages on forums. I believe member-to-member communication should be done through forum posts. UNless the message is on a private issue that cannot be disclosed publicly, I do not use private messages., I always interact on public forums.

Personally, I don't have any reason for sending private messages to anybody on a community that we are both making use of unless there is a reason why I had to contact them privately which is not something that I can discuss publicly. Most of the time, I will always comment publicly on a post where we are both discussing that I will need the person's permission to send them a private message before doing it.
