What position do you prefer to hold on a forum? Why?

I know a lot of people like to have be the owner, an administrator or at least a moderator of some kind. For me, which position I prefer will depend on the forum/community.

As you said, it depends on the forum. I generally want to be in a position where I get my voice heard. Whenever that's an Administrative position, or if that's some other sort of leadership position; that's generally where I want to be.

I prefer to be a simply moderator with permissions to actually get things done. *nods*

Unless I have the time to actually hold a leadership position like admin or team leader, I would rather just leave the stress and the decisions up to the higher up's and sit in my cozy chair where I can talk to people more, being an admin just gives you more stuff to do, more responsibilities, and I've found cuts down the time you interact with the forum.

As everyone else has stated, it really depends on the forum. I prefer not to be staff on a lot of forums so that I can focus solely on a few different forums. If I'm on a promotion or advertising forum, I prefer to be a reviewer or community team member. With graphic and Web design forums, I like to be on the dev team. But, honestly, I don't find myself wanting to be staff on many forums. I do get a lot of offers though, strangely enough.
