Picking a bad team for SEO

SEO is a delicate piece of work. If you try the wrong things, you can come up on Google quickly. But the price you pay for it is terrible. Once penalised, that is end of it in most cases.

Did you ever chose a wrong team and faced a backlash?

I do my own SEO, so I’ve never had to hire a team. I’ve been doing my own SEO for the past 18 years.

I once bought SEO service on Fiverr and the freelancer created a lot of spammy backlinks. I discontinued the service before the freelancer went to far. I think I was saved from being penalized. I do not involve with black/grey hat SEO so I have not been penalized by search engines.

Unfortunately, it's not everyone that can afford hiring a professional team to take care of their website's search engine optimisation. So many websites owner try as much as possible to get the basic knowledge of how to carry out there site's SEO.
