First I've heard of it and I think it's an AWESOME idea.

It's kind of an interesting idea, but I think the aesthetic appeal will kill it before it even gets a chance to take off. Plus it doesn't really take into account when the parts start to get worn out on their own and look bad with the newer parts. Also, I can only imagine what it will be like when parts start coming loose and falling off while you are trying to use the phone. Adding the ability to swap out parts will contribute to the bulk of the phone.
