Phishing sites are sites created to deceive people into giving sensitive information that could lead to stealing of data, passwords and important details meant to be guarded. These sites are mostly like clones of the original sites and if not vigilant, you can easily fall victim.

I once had a near experience of being duped when I found myself on such a site but thankfully at the last minute I discovered.

Have you ever had any experience with phishing sites and emails? Did you fall victim or were you able to detect on time?

Phishing sites are very dangerous, once you are not careful you will be trapped to give out some of your sensitive information which in return can make you lose some valuables. Most times it's in form of a link once you click those links, your confidential information are revealed and you are duped

Recently, someone in my home country created a phishing page for a certain telecommunication company and hacked 6 hundred thousand accounts, and embezzled a lot of money. The phishing page offered free 4GB data and unknowingly users began submitting their user details on the phishing page. News like this always discourages me to learn ethical hacking.

I have noticed that this method of theft is becoming rampant. Offering naive individuals juicy deals that claim to cost them either little or nothing and hordes tend to fall victims almost all the time.

I may sound harsh, however, it is very true that only greedy people get scammed. People are so desperate for free items that they will click anything that comes their way, they do not check who is sending this offer and who is actually benhind this offer. It is really easy to spot phishing sites just by looking at the domain, extension, and security certificate.

This format has been around for a very long time now. Scammers use the format to collect sensitive individuals data to cause phishing attacks his or personal finance account. That's why we need to avoid given out sensitive information that can concerns our financial privacy. Always make researches to determine the real one a clone website. When you see a clone website, or an app, you will know.

No apologies needed because you were simply stating the real truth about these attacks. There is need to pay very close attention to every site that we visit because apart from greed, carelessness is also a factor responsible for falling for such attacks.

Yes I once had an experience with a phishing site but thankfully I wasn't duped, these are the commom signs

An Unfamiliar Tone or Greeting. ...Grammar and Spelling Errors. ...

Inconsistencies in Email Addresses, Links & Domain Names. ...

Threats or a Sense of Urgency. ...

Suspicious Attachments.

I feel that there should be more awareness created as regards issues such as these online. The plain truth is that many people are still ignorant of these things and may end up learning from experience than knowledge.

I think you're correct, people neglect the simple truth, only interested to fall victim first before acknowledging the simple. The true fact is that, when you see such people on that blind movement and advice them, and they don't believe you, allow them to follow the plain way.

Yes I realized that'' a long time ago, when I received an unknown email from someone I don't really know, she said so many things that I can't remember, but in all she is in love with someone she has never seen before, I laughed and said to her, are you for real? Are you sure you are the one behind the emails you sent? Who are you? You must be a criminal.

This phishing site tries to steal your account password or other confidential information by tricking you into believing you're on a legitimate site. You could even land on a phishing site by mistyping a URL (web address).

If you have doubts about giving out your personal information thru a link given to you, better check first from the official website or social media account of that company if it indeed is legit. You can actually tell from the graphics of the phishing site that it's just a scam. I'm actually still shocked to see a lot of people falling into this scheme.

No, but I know 2 family friends who have been a victim of that cruel scam called phishing, they lost about some money, we did everything possible to track this scammers all to no avail, until we were introduced to an amazing team which was able to help us and we were able to get every penny back, how they did it I don’t know, but it’s like the best thing ever.

I have across many phishing URL links but fortunately, I have enough knowledge and experience about so I was able to detect them. These links normally have a similar preface that looks like an original website but they meant to steal your information. The latest phishing URL link I have detected is similar to binance exchange URL and the same preface like the binance exchange and you really need to be careful!

Most free enticement on the internet are created by scammers to steal your sensitive information in the name of offering you a free thing, that is how phishing sites works, they create link to steal sensitive information from users andND defraud them

The worst that can ever happen to anyone on the internet is mistakenly falling victim of a phishing websites. one has to becareful of which Universal Resource Locator (URL) or visits and the domain. Some phishing sites are not actually difficult to find, one just have to make sure he doesn't fall victim.

Phishing sites are very dangerous for a careless individual. There are different ways they carry out their operation,I mean scammers, I think they use more of links mostly and once an individual leaks his details on the link, they hack and move out valuables

I have experienced phishing mails severally, the mails have been sent to me on many occasions both to my personal email and my office email. There was a day we had to off our computers in the office for hours because a colleague clicked on the link in the email and the fraudsters almost had access to some customers accounts.

Really? That must have been awful experience for everyone especially the guy who made such an error. It was a good thing you guys were swift about it. There have been many cases where they have been successful before the victims could realize what had happened.
