This might only work with Big Board forums, but what do you think about this idea?
Create a specific section on your forum which will display advertisement posts.
Sell the ability to post on that board. Sell regular posts and sticky posts for different prices. You could even sell posts with prefixes and such.
It would help if your forum very active with a lot of daily visits.
You can make rules to ensure advertisement posts are not fraud or malicious to the consumer.
But ad posts in its own section isn't annoying to the community and those interested can check out ad posts.
This could work with any niche. You just niche down on the type and topic of ad posts you allow.
