In order to protect their brand name and outdo competitors, most top companies buy domains in different top extensions and redirect all the traffic to their main website. I think this is a nice strategy as not doing so would make you lose out when potential customers get to visit your competitors website instead of yours.

What do you have to say about this?

Only the companies having a huge budget can afford to buy a domain with multiple extensions to protect their brand, for instance, they can register mycompany with a dot com, dot net, dot org, etc. For common individuals, that will not be financially possible.

The domain must be copyrighted means in the other term any extension with your domain name because you will buy mostly three extensions not 125 extensions as a purpose of discount then buy copyright protection is required to avoid this kind of situation.

Having multiple domains can improve your business’s online identity while protecting your brand from competition; someone can easily write “.co” instead of “.com” at the end of the domain name!

This is something worth looking into AFTER you have had some success. Doing it from the start has proven to be a quick way to be wasteful with your budget and marketing plan. I think it is worth it though if you have a successful website already running though.

This is a common practice among top companies and tech giants. It redirects all the network traffic to their home website. This also prevents spammers from misusing their brand name.
