Granted, this is a close friend of mine.
And the reactions he has gotten in this thread is something that I have warned him about with the XenForo cult attitude on the XF support site (and if reading the entire thread you can see it in all it's glory or crap attitude depending on your viewpoint).

Some things are best kept to yourself… i am about ready to wash my hands of xenforo or running any site. sadly what I hoped for from other admins is not what reality has shown. in the end i have more important concerns. i had hoped to use xenforo as a resource income to supplement my disability...

Honestly Brandon (AKA Opus X) is seriously contemplating getting out of the XF (and also the forum) ecosphere based upon this thread and some other comments. He faces some severe medical issues that they make fun of.
I have to give it to him... if it would have been me, I would have told them to fuck off... but seems that one of his comments about a cult member being on the twit list got deleted by moderators... but ironically I can find numerous other posts telling folks they were on an ignore list.
After reading through the thread, it doesn't give me the warm fuzzies to the point I would recommend XF to others.

Definitely not a good look for Xenforo, the way that some staff members treated the thread to begin with was horrible and to continue to treat Opus X like garbage after stating he's got medical issues is bs. Apparently you left a impression on the site too Tracy and they won't shut up about you lol.

That is what is so surprising that the staff allowed that to go on as much as they have proclaimed to want professionalism on the site.
I've known Brandon for over a decade and met him when he was a desk manager in the call center that I was the IT manager for. Have also hung out with him quite a bit IRL smoking pipes and cigars and going hunting.

I told him he might as well keep the site since it's paid for and working and he doesn't have to worry about covering the hosting as I have it on a VPS I rent. He's just in a burn out place right now.

Apparently you left a impression on the site too Tracy and they won't shut up about you lol.

Now, whether that is good or bad is up to the one that has it. I quit worrying about making people that I don't really know feel all warm and fuzzy years ago.

I have a feeling that they have bought into the cult member feeling that he and I are the same people.
I don't think they want to realize that I have zero (actually it would be in a negative number) desire to participate in posting on their site as it hasn't brought any help to me in years. Every question I have asked over there has either been figured out/answered by me or sits with no replies. So other than helping others or calling the XF developers out when I think they've stepped on their crank why would I want to post over there? Even if they lifted their ban I wouldn't post there. If I have issues with any of the add-ons that are available there, I generally contact the developer directly. For those that don't have a site of their own, others can report the bug on the XF site if they come across it.
I have no issues with posting what I say using my own name.
Now, I have to get back to getting the pit going to smoke the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Just about have everything else prepped.

You can't treat someone like crap and still be expecting them to stick around or not render any good service to someone when they needed help and expect them to keep coming to participate in what's going on in the community. It doesn't make any sense. I'd rather use my time for something more beneficial to me than waste it on their board if I were in your shoes.
