Are .org domains only for organizations? Or could anyone purchase a domain with .org at the end? What if it wasn't allowed, what happens if you had a .org domain?

it can be used by anyone, but it's too expensive that an individual would spend money on, that's why if you aren't an organization, just don't use it, it's just an extra money to spend

I don't think it is for only organisations to bolt it is popularly used by organisations. You really see online stores use such domains. So it is best for organisations.

Dot com is not even for organizations. Dot org is used for organization. To your question, anybody who can afford the expensiveness can get the dot com. It is not limited to one sector.

Domains that end with "dot org" can be owned by anyone. I have seen many people owning it. In fact, some freelancing platforms also own such domains and many blog owners also own such domains. However, "dot com" domains are most commonly used domains.

Anyone can use such extension provided its suitable website niche plans. It doesn't necessarily mean that, it is an organizational extension.

Dot org was originally mean for organizations, especially non profit organizations. However, these days anyone is using dot org domain for any kind of websites.

I do not think a .org Domaine is only meant for organizations. I have seen an individual that is not an organization owning a .org domain and nothing happened to it. Anyone can own a .org domain

I don't think that the .org domain extension is actually only for organisations but any other person can make use of it.

It's actually for organisations but I think a lot of organizations use the domain extension for their websites and I think it is the most appropriate.

Oh really, that's good to know I have never known it to be like that. Indeed this platform affords one the opportunity to learn. So it's not just for organisations but anyone, just learnt something new.

It's fair enough that the .org domain extension is actually a good domain extension for organisations but it does not mean that it is strictly for organisations as individuals can also use it.

Most business websites adopt it, even earning sites, especially blog, adopt it. It depends on the extension we're chosing for our niche website, it doesn't matter of its .org, or .com, the contents on it speaks high volume.

The .org domains are so many everywhere. It is not only organisation that uses the Domain. It can as well be used by individuals if they so wish to use it

I have also noticed that many online money making websites also use the "dot org" domain and even many scam sites have also been using such domains. So if you see a site that uses such domains and looks professional, then it does not mean that it is legit.

It is not just organization alone that uses the .org domain. Just as so many people have clearly observed here, we have seen individuals using the .org domains I'm their web addresses too

These days you can use any domains for any purpose and no one is going to stop you. You can use org for organization as well as business if does not really matter.

Anyone can buy a .org domain name. It's one the famous and original TLDs out there and there aren't any restrictions on it. It's designed for organisations but anyone really can get one although it doesn't make sense to have a personal website use .org though. It would look strange to visitors and maybe put them off due to the confusion.

I think the dot org provider is meant for organizations but there is actually no restrictions. However for me, I would prefer to have my provider that is related to the website. If the site is an organization then dot org is it and if the site is just any commercial in nature then dot com will be better.
