Offsite or Offline promotion techniques

Have you ever tried offline promotion techniques of any kind?
I have seen some people create and wear printed t-shirts promoting their websites.
Sometimes its the stickers on their car/bike.

What do you think about this ideas?

I've seen it before, but I personally feel that it's ineffective. Whenever I see them, I notice, but never really remember what it was for. So I guess this kind of defeats the purpose.

Thats kind of true actually. Most of them I don't remember. :/

A logo and the adress of my site as stickers, on my car, worked very good.
