This is a web management/hosting/marketing/design/development company I've been working on creating. For the record, I didn't design the template. I just bought a template and then made a few edits to fit my needs. Still, I'd like to know what you guys think. If you were a clueless business owner with no computer skills, would you take this website seriously?

Also, what do you think of one page templates in general? They're becoming more and more common, so I feel like using it makes the company seem like a modern web service provider.

Note: Link may not work for some people considering the recent DNS changes.

Thanks!

Design thoughts:
Inconsistent color scheme/maybe too much white/grey/black?
Side menu bar/contact bar/side footer.. thingy isn't really necessary.
Unless Im staring at the homepage for 10-15 seconds (which most users dont) I have no idea that "Web Management" is the first of multiple items.

I like one-page sites. They're all the rage right now. I enjoy the continuity and some people get really creative with it.

Hi Cameron! There is no point in wasting your first screen with definitions like Web Management or Social Networking without any additional information about the following service if your targeted audience is a clueless business owner with no computer skills.

I agree. I would immediately want to know what the services are and how it's different that other services similar websites provide or how it's better in layman's terms.

I'd consider changing the 'our staff section' for the time being. Possibly just move your mini profile to the center. The large amount of white space in the center makes the website look a bit odd. The footer is also empty, you may want to take advantage of that by placing a copyright, but that's not too important.

Overall it looks great, good luck!

Overall, I think it looks great, was a little slow loading for me so I’m not sure if that’s down to the host or the images on the site at the time I viewed it.

The only thing I’m not a huge fan on is the grey lines background image at the top, I think it would look nicer with maybe a landscape or image of something with a slightly transparent grey overlay on top, if you don’t know what I mean I’ll show you. That’s just my opinion though as to me, everything else looks great.

One page sites are brilliant, looks a lot more modern and professional I believe. Good job :)

That staff section was actually filled up until just recently, but I definitely get what you mean. I was actually planning on putting photos of my two dogs up as staff members, just to fill up the space. The individuals that were previously on it are no longer involved with Nashville Web Services, or even my life, for that matter.

The background image at the top is probably my favorite aspect of this style. :p

I'd love to see what you mean.

I think it's mostly the quality of the image that does it for me, seems to be losing quality from it being stretched.

With the image I was talking about, something similar to I just quickly mocked up:

That's just a style I like, so completely my opinion :)

Oh yeah, that's probably the case then. That background isn't as big as it needs to be. It's probably getting stretched out on larger resolutions.

That does look pretty sexy. Personally, I'd like to have a large background image of the downtown Nashville skyline, but I could never find any images that I liked.

That probably is the reason to be honest & thanks! That would look great, looks like you'll have to get up there and take one yourself

I like the look so far except the logo. That globe like logo, is plain. I wish you could come up with a more elegant looking logo like website forums. Also, the chat with us widget, I would recommend you to change the title to 'Contact us'. As it doesn't have any live information, I believe it would suite the purpose more.

I do like blue but it would be easier on the eyes, if you could decrease the size of the header a bit.
Also, if you don't want to change the logo, then you could set something like "on mouse hover, let the globe spin". It would be really something.
Good luck with your services, Cameron.

The logo is one of my favorite aspects of this, but it is just a plain white, so I can see why that wouldn't necessarily be appealing.

Definitely a good suggestion. That WordPress plugin is a live chat plugin, so if this project ever did actually take off, there would have hopefully been an operator signed in for this. I can say that I had a couple staff members signed into the live chat regularly, when this project was first started.

Interesting suggestion. I'll look into that.

That's a very cool idea. That would be very professional. :)
