Movies based on books

What do you think of movies who are based on books? One of bright examples are Harry Potter movies. You have several medieval tv shows who are based on novels as well. The Silence of the lambs (triller) is based on first or second book of it, I am not sure right now. Can movies sometimes become better than books or not?

I love Harry Potter movies a lot, but books are much better, of course. You?

I am legend. The book is really interesting because the monsters can talk. The end is also way better!

I have read Dan Brown's books as well as the movies based on the books I have read. I think movies were better than the books. Whether the books are good or the movies are good depend on the director and script writer.

TV shows like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon is based on books. I've read the books myself before watching both of the shows. The books was more detailed.

Who is a God Father movie fan in here? I bet most people aren't aware the movie was based on a book which is a novel by Mario Puzo. It's one of my all time favourite.
