I intend to set up an online business any moment from now. I want to create a store where I will be able to upload different varieties of products and sell to people in my locality. Now I want to know which one to go for between mini importation and dropshipping

Both are very good business. Mini importation might be more costly than drop shipping. Do whatever you can manage financially.

Drop shipping is the best for me, small capital needed to start, no physical products will be with you, it will be with the manufacturer in the warehouses and you need not worry yourself about shipping procedures and cost

Once you do that, you will need a lot of money to buy the products from foreign countries. For dropshipping business, all you need a website and start selling form your website without spending money on products.
