Migrate over to another platform

My forum is on Proboards & I had found out awhile ago that per their TOS, we cannot migrate over to another platform. I was wondering if the other free boards i.e. Jcink, MyBB, phpbb can move to another? If yours is paid, have you moved over to another platform? Was it fairly easy to do? Did you do it yourself or hire someone?

We moved from vbulletin to Xenforo years ago and I didn't do it, but the owner did and had help from another guy he knew. I don't remember them having any major problems. The only thing was we had add ons for vbulletin especially made for our forum and we can't get anyone to do them for xenforo even when offering to pay for it.

If you are using forum software like MyBB, PhpBB, you can easily migrate to another platform. However, if you are using free hosted forums like proboard, you cannot migrate.
