Male or Female : Who plays games more?

There is this assumption that men are more inclined to playing video games more than their female counterpart. What do you make of this assessment? Do you think that man play video games more than ladies or is it that man are more vocal gamers but that doesn't make them play more than the ladies?

I think maybe it's equal?

I've met women who liked to play video games just as much I do. My wife included. She loves to play games like The Sims and Left 4 Dead.
