Making your members aware of of features

How can you effectively announce new features and encourage your users to use them? It can be challenging to get your audience to try new things, especially if they are resistant to change, but it is important to find ways to introduce these new features in a way that will improve their experience. How can you get your members to take advantage of these new features?

Possibly through incentives or encouragement. You can have incentives that users may receive if they try out new features on your board. Or, you could encourage them to use the new features and probably have a feedback topic about what they think of the new feature.

Whenever I bring anything new to forums I own we always announce them in the announcements forum and also on social media as well. Giving incentives to your members as well for using the new features you have implemented also works quite well.

This is why there's the announcements section in forums. If you don't have one already, you should make provisions for it immediately. Forum members that try as much as possible to navigate the entire forum will always come across those announced features. But for the lazy members, you can send out an email to your entire members of the new features.

I used to do scavenger hunts and would sometimes hint where things may be. They would discover new areas because of this. I also have created a topic with the changes and they all collect in one topic. Minor changes would go there, if it was a big overhaul I would make an announcement about it if I thought it was needed.
