Making custom keycaps?

This is something my wife has been looking into. She recently got a new keyboard and wanted to get a few custom keycaps but quickly realized they are not cheap. For example, one space bar keycap can easily run you $40! They use epoxy resin and molds to make these which is not terribly expensive but if you get good, you can make a lot of money from it. Anyone consider this or look into it?

I my home country, I do not think there is a demand for custom keycaps. I might be working but I do not see any custom keycaps in the market. However, I see a lot of people selling custom keycaps on online marketplaces. I am not sure if people are willing to pay as much as $40 for a single keycap but I am sure you might fetch a good price.

Personally this is something that I will not be interested in doing because I don't see any benefits of having any kind of custom keycap in your keyboard because it doesn't add anything whenever you are using it to type something when you are working. It's just for the sake of beauty.
