Is MyBB a good place to advertise your site?

I love the MyBB software. And, at this point, I'm thinking of a new forum with MyBB. I've seen lots of MyBB forum owners advertising their site on the showcase forum at the official MyBB site. This seems to be a good place to promote a MyBB related site for new members, while getting valuable feedback/critique from other MyBB site owners. If you own a MyBB forum, have you tried promoting your site here?

When I had a MyBB forum I did advertise there and I found it did get some interest which was good, it also classes as a do follow so gains me a backlink but to be honest it's not as great as I expected it to be in regards to advertising because it only got me a small amount of interest from people who frequent there. I guess it really depends on the kind of forum you own as well as to how much interest you may gain.
